Kryoneri (Greek: Κρυονέρι, meaning "cold water") is a community of the Greek prefecture of Attica. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Dionysos, of which it is a municipal unit.[1]
Kryoneri is a rather exclusive suburb of Athens. The area around Kryoneri has farmlands in the central and the southern parts, and mountains further north, while housing developments of Athens did not affect it significantly, although industrial buildings lie further east. Luxury houses and villas arrived in mid 1990s and housing developments have accelerated in the last few years, turning this previously rural area into an upper-middle class suburb. Kryoneri is located north of Athens, southeast of Thiva and northwest of Agios Stefanos.
Businesses and services are the most popular industry in Kryoneri, with farming dominating the less developed areas.
